Anders Wahlstedt Fine Art presents Constructing Color / Painting by Jason Stewart, an exhibition by New York City / Hudson Valley based artist Jason Stewart. This is Jason’s first show at Anders Wahlstedt Fine Art and his eighth solo show in NYC. The McNay Art Museum’s commitment to engaging a diverse community in the discovery and enjoyment of the visual arts is reaching new heights with the announcement of a $6.25 million Landscape Master Plan. This transformative plan will activate and enhance the outdoor Museum experience with additional works of art, “invisible” fencing, new landscaping, and increased accessibility—ensuring everyone feels welcome and at home at the first modern art museum in Texas. “By physically opening up the McNay to our entire community, we are honoring the legacy of our founder,” said Richard Aste, McNay Director. “During World War II, when our country needed more beauty and inspiration than ever, Marion Koogler McNay shared her home and world-renowned modern art collection with students and soldiers across San Antonio. Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens (CMBG) recently installed a solo exhibition of artist Steve Tobin’s Steelroots and bronze Walking Roots sculptures throughout the grounds as part of the Park’s “Roots: The Other Half of the Story” thematic show. Titled “Steve Tobin: Unearthed” the sculptures will be on view through spring of 2020. Tobin gave an artist lecture and signed copies of his recently published monograph, “Mind Over Matter” (Rizzoli International) on August 20, 2019. Tobin, often called a “visual philosopher” by art critics, has long explored the natural world in glass, clay, bronze, and steel. His oeuvre ranges from bronze castings of trees’ vast root systems to towering termite mounds cast on-site in West Africa, to waterfalls and rivers that spring from ceilings and snake rock formations made of millions of glass capillary tubes or slender steel rods. An Inrap team has recently excavated a group of aligned menhirs at Veyre-Monton (Puy-de-Dôme). This research, prescribed by the State (Drac Auvergne – RhôneAlpes), was conducted in the context of construction work by the APRR society to widen the A75 motorway. This is the first time such alignments, cairns and statuemenhirs have been discovered in Auvergne or, more broadly, in central France. The 1.6-hectare excavation, surrounded by the volcanic reliefs characteristic of the “Limagne des buttes,” unearthed around thirty monoliths from 1 to 1.6 meters tall. These menhirs form a more or less straight and continuous alignment, extending along 150 meters in the excavation zone and probably beyond. They are bordered by another alignment of large stones, in the continuation of which five stones are arranged in a horseshoe shape. Finally, six regularly spaced stones form a circle measuring 1.5 m in diameter. Clearly visible in
