Elsie Archer
Elsie has drawn and painted since she was a child. With much encouragement from teachers, family and friends, she maintained her interest in art as she grew up. Since then, she has studied art with great determination, under many other teachers.
She has shown her art in many well known venues, including the Calgary Stampede and has sold internationally. She is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists. She presently shows her art in Different Strokes Gallery in Olds and Gilded Gallery in Didsbury Alberta, her home town.
Having retired from many years of nursing as an RN, Elsie is now able to devote more time to her own art and is presently teaching two adult classes per week in her basement studio.
Elsie’s first love was oil painting, she has since branched out into other media. Her style is semi-realistic, leaning toward impressionism.
Elsie is a member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, Calgary Chapter and the Wellspring Visual Artnetwork Association.
Elsie resides in Didsbury with her husband and has three grown children and five grandchildren.
