January Social 2012

Our Annual January Social was held January 26th from 7 to 9pm at Smitty’s Restaurant Banquet room. Members met for a fun evening of visiting and snacks. We are so grateful to David (Michele Brewster’s brother-in-law) from DST Consulting for hosting this special night. As members enjoyed each others’ company, sharing our Artists activities over this past year and hopes for the coming year, this surely was a fun time.

Byron Nilsson gave us a talk and demonstration regarding the Website and showed us around the site and explained what we have available to us through our Website, Facebook, Twitter and Google plus. We also now have a secure member’s only feature. Thanks Byron, that was a great help.
Greg McMartin brought one of his Ice Sculptures for us to enjoy; it was great… Thanks Greg!

If you missed this social plan to come next year as it is a really fun evening.

Uptowne Olds ArtWalk Grand Opening

Artwalk 2011 - 3 PicturesThe Uptowne Olds group hosted the 2011 ArtWalk Grand Opening at Different Strokes Art Gallery on Friday, June 24. The event was held in conjunction with the Oldstice Market. Street vendors and concessions with a variety of goods, baking, produce and wares were situated on downtown streets, with businesses open for shopping. Entertainment was provided by talented musicians and there were games for children.

The evening was a success for Wellspring and for ArtWalk with welcoming words from Mayor Judy Dahl and Debbie Ohlhausen, owner of Different Strokes Art Gallery. The Gallery has several members of the Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association as exhibitors, along with works from many other noted artisans and artists tastefully displayed throughout. David Todd is the featured artist at Different Strokes for ArtWalk 2011.

Some of the ladies with Wellspring Benefactor Lesley Winfield, Head Librarian Olds Municipal Library.

February 21st, 2011 – Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association Social was held on Thursday, January 27th. All members attending had a fun evening. Great visiting, sharing of member’s activities and events attended during the past year, this was so interesting to hear what other members are doing in their Artists part of their lives. We were so happy to have Lesley Winfield join us and we were able to Thank her in person for her generous donation to our association. We truly appreciate the support she has given us. Our Thanks also to Dakota Industries who helped us with the delicious food and beverages for our Social.
Due to the fact that not a sufficient number of members voted on a Logo Design; a design was not accepted. All the designs will go to the board for further work and the choosing of a Logo process. Carroll presented, on behalf of David Todd, a Pottery Bowl to Dee Poisson whose design received the most votes. Congratulations Dee and Thanks David for your lovely gift
