Olds Library Display

IMG_4684_2

The wonderful folks at the Olds Library have invited me to display my jewelry there during the month of June.

In addition to finished work I’ve also included samples of the beads and materials I use, as well as several projects that are underway. Both of these displays have explanatory notes to describe what the various items are.

“Green Fire” (the necklace shown here) is a beautiful piece of dichroic glass that I bought from a friend in Quartzsite, AZ. He makes amazing pieces that often seem to change colour before your eyes — although the pendant appears blue in this photo, if you look closely at the real piece, it seems to change to green the deeper you look into it.

P.S. An unexpected surprise as I was setting up yesterday — a woman bought this piece as soon as she saw it. She’s kindly agreed to let it remain in the display until I can return with a replacement. 🙂

Bergen Thanksgiving Market

Cool days, frosty nights, falling leaves — all signs that fall has arrived. And that means Thanksgiving is almost here.

Are you looking for an enjoyable way to spend part of the Thanksgiving weekend? If so, perhaps you’d like to take in the special Thanksgiving Market at Bergen. Most of the regular summer vendors will be there along with some new faces.

The Bergen Farmers’ Market is set in picturesque rural Alberta. It has a well-earned reputation for the quality of its vendors and its warm, welcoming atmosphere. The coffee pot is always on (and the coffee is free) — and of course you can buy tasty pastries to enjoy with your cuppa.

So mark your calendar — Saturday October 12 from 10 to 1 pm — and join us.

I’ll have my new fall designs for sale — here’s a sample. 😉

You’ll find a map here. (Please note — although this link says the market runs until 4, it wraps up at 1.)
