LETTER OF INTRODUCTION:

Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association (WVANA) is a not-for-profit umbrella organization of rural artists who reside south of Red Deer and north of Calgary, Alberta. The membership of artisans and artists showcase, exhibit and market their work, as well as host events such as art shows, children’s programs, festivals and workshops.

The mandate of the Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association is to create a hub for artistic ventures. WVANA was formed during the summer of 2006, and has a growing membership. With a vision and prime directive to advance and promote appreciation of visual arts in rural communities, WVANA facilitates a presence of quality, juried Fine Art with a purpose to enrich culture throughout central Alberta.

The momentum of WVANA continues to grow. Rural artists and artisans support one another, with the advantage of a voice outside the urban centres. The ability to take part in professional development, showcase work at sponsored events and to have a unique presence within the rural area has provided local and regional artists a consistent flow for creativity.

WVANA defines Fine Art as being original in design and concept. All visual artists are considered for membership, with work juried for acceptance. A high standard of Fine Art is critical for acceptance to the group, giving a profile of professionalism for available or showcased work. Descriptive information accompanies work when presented for show and for sale.

Partners of WVANA assist with promotion and marketing, and are a valuable resource. Businesses and organizations have demonstrated enthusiasm and obvious interest in promotion of activities. For example, a successful ArtWalk is held annually at businesses in communities such as Olds, Innisfail, Didsbury and Sundre.

Wellspring Visual ArtNetwork Association welcomes the opportunity to share and promote Fine Art within your community.
